It's really a pleasure to be july's POTM.
Well where can I start talking about my quake live... In 1999 one friend bought the typical magazine+Cd demos inside. It was the Quake III Arena demo! We were wondering how about it'll be, so in few minutes we were playing at a friend house. At this moment I didn't have pc so randomly played in friends house. Some years later, SEGA's console Dreamcast released a new version of this game with some exclusive maps. I bought the game & started to play online with a good 999 ping & joypad(yeah LOL, besides my first name in quake was 'NeoReloaded_x' as my e-mail adress). It was summer, I was young, and nothing to do really. So my summer nights became an awesome experience. The ping was not real, now with a 999 you're in connection interrupted but with a 33.8K I was kicking asses in a similar dejavu experience(Oh! I though I killed you, then you see the guy's rocket in your face D:). At the beginning played FFA All Weapons and one day met a very good player(he told me that he was a champion of don't know what...). He owns me 20-1... After the match asked him about hims skill. He told me: 'buy a keyboard an a mouse dude, then maybe you can do something'. I made it the next day :P He and other friend offered to trainning me. After some hard weeks, day by day, I was getting better and the difference between the frags & skill was getting closer. And finally I won him! There was not more to learn about this guy. And he dissapeared... I started my quake live alone. Playing in randomly servers, cause we didn't have 'Favorites' section in Dreamcast ver. T_T
After some months I quited from Quake. Times change your priorities. But after a while I got my first pc :D And wanted to know how it will be in a pc with a DSL connection. One friend(now he doesn't play but the last nickname did he used was 'Keel') and I started to play at nights. We were bad skilled noobs xD playing at Europe servers. DqP was one of our favorites.
Well and I almost forgot... I changed my nickname to '>>Semia_Puta<<' in my return to pc world. Too many people in those years asked me about the nickname. And this is a big chance to tell you all about that:
I was with my little sister and the windows voice recorder making some fun. We were recording reversed phrases and then reversing them. We were getting lot of laughts and then the inspiration becames. I wrote 'Puta Semia', in basque(one of my native lenguages) is the same as 'Son of a bitch'. But I made a mistake reversing and the voice recorder when I reversed the phrase told: 'Semia Puta'. We were crying rofling xD & I took as nickname for the last 5 years I think.
And then we met the Noghost mod :)
My friend told me about an official servers from Noghost. And we moved to SDSL, CTF, Tenacious D Time... We loved CTF server! and the ranking stats were a great powerup to improve the skills. Finally we left Europe & started our quake career in USA. There was more activity and personally I loved much better than Euro. There was when I started to met good people. One of the CTF best clan was MeGA & the leader invited me to join them. There was created by very skilled players from South America & we all spoke spanish. But sadly people started to be inactive and I quitted. Then h5m invited me to be a part of them. I was very happy to join cause h5m was the better clan of the server. There's where I met very good mates. 'Bot', 'EurithmiX', 'Serge'... and specially 'el_yemo' & 'A_M'. They are actually my friends and still playing together & chatting every weekend. We had lot of fun playing together. The rivality with WTF clan was a great thing for keep us busy playing against each other, 'GhostX' made a good work. And finally h5m became other clan with lot of inactivity players. I started moving into fast rail TDM server & searching for a good clan. SS Desire & random fast rail servers were my choice to play. Finally decided to try to join o2o. I was newbie in fast rail, but starting to improve my skills with it. But after a while I quitted from quake and didn't join them.
My last return was so great & after that still in quake panorama :)
One day I read a topic in the forum about a petition for clanbase. I was wondering if a spanish clan exists & yeah! TgK was still alive & kicking asses. I join them & there is where a second life of quake started moving to Euro where I started to play in pc. 'TearDrop', 'EsCoLtA', 'smirnoff', 'ChykO', 'maX', 'VaRk'... Dammit! miss the old times. This clan broke in two & again I left. rG & TgK was alive & some months ago decided to join where my friends were: rG :) We recruit new members, good mates. We all had very good moments together, lot of hours talking. We made Very good mates in real life. That's the important. But you all know, something starts & always haves a end. Some players of rG became inactive & some months ago I decied to quit them. It was the sadest decission of my quake life. And here I am. Now with swb <3 clan; 'w00tici', 'aZi', 'Richard', 'binary', 'ank', 'Goldie'... Other skilled & friendly clan, that's the important at the end.
Well it's enough, I have lot of histories to talk about. Really LOT of them. And LOT of people to give the thanks. But im not going to spam with more nicknames. You know what I think about you all.
Just, have fun with this game, enjoy this awesome mod called Noghost. Enjoy the people you meet in quake.
